Volunteer Application School-Year Programs (Respite Club Programs): This is for applicants who are interested in applying for one or more of CAMP’s school year program volunteer opportunities: Parent’s Night Out, Respite Camp, and/or Teen and Adult Day Adventure.
- Parent’s Night Out (PNO)
- One Friday evening each month for 5 hours at our facility on Lackland AFB. Help educate and entertain dozens of children, aged 6 months to 13 years, with special needs and their siblings. PNO allows parents a chance to enjoy an evening to themselves while CAMP volunteers lead their children in educational games and social interaction. All Volunteers are eligible to receive five service hours per event.
- Teen and Adult Day Adventure (TADA)
- One Saturday each month for 4-5 hours, “buddy” up with a teen or young adult aged 14-40 years. Trips may include visits to theme parks, the rodeo, museums, plays, sporting events and other activities in the San Antonio area. There are no entry fees for volunteers; CAMP covers the cost. Volunteers can earn up to 5 service hours per each event.
- Respite Weekends
- Help care for an individual with special needs and their siblings aged 5-40 years. First time volunteers are eligible to receive 25 service hours per event. All other volunteers are eligible to receive a stipend based on the role available during that weekend at CAMP.
